Black Mountain Forestry Center

Black Mountain Forestry Center, a nonprofit organization, offers tours, forestry related educational opportunities, and is the site of the Gerdrum Museum and gift shop. We are open Memorial Day through Labor Day on the weekends, 12pm to 4pm.

Welcome to the Mt. Baker-Snoqualmie National Forest, one of the most visited forests in the country, located east of Seattle, Washington on the west side of the Cascades between the Canadian border and Mt. Rainier National Park. Here you will find glacier-covered peaks, spectacular mountain meadows and old-growth forests, rich in history and outdoor opportunities.

Douglas Fir Campground

Located on the Mt. Baker Hwy. near milepost 36
This campground is situated in the forest along the North Fork Nooksack River. Tall Douglas Fir, western red cedar, and western hemlock trees provide abundant shade. Guided river rafting and white water kayaking opportunities are available on the river. A day use picnic shelter provides a space for groups to gather and recreate.

Silver Fir Campground

Located on the Mt. Baker Hwy. near milepost 46
This campground is situated in the forest along the North Fork Nooksack River. Most of the sites are removed from the highway with a short walk to the river. Many Silver fir, western red cedar, and western hemlock trees provide shade, but a very sunny gravel bar is between the campground and the river. A historic day use picnic shelter can also be reserved.
